What do we do?

What do we do?

The Samenwerkende Fondsen Cariben offer financial contributions to social projects. For example, we support care for juvenile ex-detainees, activities for the elderly, or projects for improved quality of life in neighbourhoods. Subsequently increasing the involvement between and of people and ensuring equal opportunities for everyone in society.

In particular, we provide financial contributions to initiatives that arise from within society itself. For example projects that focus on poverty reduction and those that offer better chances for a decent life for all residing on the islands, as well as for those whom are of a lower socio-economic status or are vulnerable to negative situations.

Local Advice

The Samenwerkende Fondsen Cariben are assisted on each island by a local Advisory Boards or a Local Advisor. They are the local contact person for applicants. Applicants can go there for advice and guidance on their application. The local Advisory Board or Local Advisor also has a role in consultation with local authorities.

The cooperation between the foundations simplifies giving and receiving financial support. There is a central point of contact and a simplified application procedure for all the foundations of which the Samenwerkende Fondsen Cariben comprise of. In turn facilitating more and better quality social projects for the islands.

One of the Dutch foundations acts as general coordinator. This role changes every three years. Currently, Kansfonds is the general coordinator.
