Everyone their own room

Everyone their own room

Clients with an intellectual disability live in a residential facility on Aruba. They receive the care and support that cannot otherwise be provided at home. However, due to lack of space, clients had to share rooms and bathrooms. The residents therefore had little to no privacy and were forced in each other’s quarters. That regularly led to irritation, frustration, and in the worst case, to aggression. Receiving visitors was also difficult with so little privacy. With a contribution from the Samenwerkende Fondsen Cariben, the foundation built six more bedrooms and three bathrooms. Everyone now has his or her own place to call their own.
