Children of (former) prisoners often unjustly suffer from the mistakes of their parents. For example, there is no money available for school uniforms or for the membership fees to participate in afterschool activities. In this way, these children can fall behind in educational achievements or social milestones, become unmotivated and are not sufficiently stimulated by their parents. The Samenwerkende Fondsen Cariben has supported a project aimed at students and their parents. The children receive extra guidance and a reimbursement for their school package. The parents are supervised, among other things, in the upbringing and in finding a job.
