New materials for a neighborhood community center

An after-school activities program has been running for years in a community center on Curaçao. This for children aged 6-16, whose parents earn a minimum income or less. The program consists of a mix of homework guidance, enhancing social skills, stimulating education and recreation. Many of these children have major socio-emotional problems. That is why a social worker and a psychologist also assist with the program. After so many successful years, a number of things are due for replacement. That is why the foundation applied for the purchase of computers, printers and folding chairs. A volunteer allowance was also needed for two teachers. Thanks to the contribution from the Samenwerkende Fondsen Cariben, the foundation can successfully proceed with meeting the children’s needs for the coming years.
