CEDE Aruba signs agreement with Aruban government and the Samenwerkende Fondsen Cariben.
On Wednesday, July 4, CEDE Aruba, the Samenwerkende Fondsen Cariben and the Aruban government signed an agreement. This endorsed a collaboration that makes it possible to support new initiatives, implemented by foundations and NGOs, aimed at strengthening the well-being of residents in the social sector.
CEDE Aruba and the Samenwerkende Fondsen Cariben contribute an average of 2.8 million guilders per year to community projects on the island. This concerns, for example, initiatives for vulnerable target groups such as the elderly, teenage moms, youth, people in poverty or people with an addiction. The agreement regulates the financial contribution of the government and the Samenwerkende Fondsen Cariben to social initiatives via CEDE Aruba. It also relates to the responsibilities of CEDE Aruba such as excellent governance, proper financial administration and an independent position with regards to politics, religion and commerce.
The agreement is valid for a period of five years. The agreement was signed by the board members of CEDE Aruba, the Aruban government represented by Mr. Glenbert Croes, Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Mrs. Evelyne Wever-Croes, ad interim Minister of Finance, Economy and Culture, and the Samenwerkende Fondsen Cariben represented by Mrs. Drs. Henriette Hulsebosch and Mr. Drs. Peter Douwes.
