Over the past few years the Samenwerkende Fondsen Cariben gave special attention to two themes by means of a program.
Through the Together Old (‘Samen Oud’) program, the Samenwerkende Fondsen Cariben made additional budget available for three years specifically for elderly projects, from 2015 onwards. More than 20 social organizations committed to work for the elderly on the islands through this program. Unfortunately, it is no longer possible to submit new applications via this program. However, NGOs can always submit an application within this same theme via the regular application process.
Chances for the Youth
In 2013, the Samenwerkende Fondsen Cariben started a multi-year program in the Caribbean Part of the Dutch Kingdom: ‘Chances for the Youth - Caribbean’. For this program 18 initiatives were selected that support vulnerable young people, aged 12-25 years, in their personal development. The aim was to help young people, both in the social-emotional field and in their (school) career, so that they can live their lives as economically independent as possible, having a brighter future. For this, the organizations not only received financial support, but also received multiple tools and additional knowledge through training and workshops to improve their project and their organization.
The program was successfully finalised in November 2018. Unfortunately, it is no longer possible to submit new applications via this program. However, NGOs can always submit an application within this same theme via the regular application process.
